How to get drought alerts by text

Pick your county on Cownty's free sign-up form and tick the alerts you want. You'll get a text when your county's drought level crosses a program line, when it lands on an FSA list like LFP, or when a burn ban starts or ends.

Texts are not turned on yet. Sign-ups are saved, and no text goes out until we start.

Sign-up takes about a minute: county, cattle or crops, the alerts you want, and your cell number. You confirm by replying YES to the first text, and you can quit any time by texting STOP.

Alerts are about your county only. They state what the official source says, with the date, and link to the details on Cownty.

No app, no login, and Cownty never sells or shares your number. See the privacy page for what's kept.
