Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy for Cownty (cownty.com) explains what we collect, how we use it, and who we share it with.
What we keep: your county, cell number, what you picked, and proof you agreed to texts.
What we never ask for: your name (optional), address, herd size, acres, bank or FSA records.
We never sell, rent or share your phone number, your SMS opt-in or consent data, or your personal information with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Text STOP to quit. To have everything deleted, send us a note and we'll delete it.
Information we collect
We collect what you put on the sign-up form (optional first name, county, what you run, alert choices, cell number) plus a record of your text consent (the wording you agreed to, the time, and your YES reply).
How we use it
We use your information only to send the text alerts you asked for (USDA/FSA county program alerts and sale barn price alerts), to answer HELP and STOP requests, and to run your account.
SMS opt-in data and sharing
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. We do not sell your personal information. Service providers that help us run the service (our text-message carrier and card processor) receive only what they need to deliver it and may not use it for any other purpose.
Opting out
Reply STOP to any text to stop all messages. Reply HELP for help, or contact us. Message frequency varies (one weekly price text plus rare county alerts when something changes). Msg & data rates may apply.
Contact form and site visits
Notes sent through the contact form are kept only to answer you. To block spam, we keep a scrambled (hashed) version of the connecting address for a short time; we never keep the raw address with your note.
We count visits to the site without cookies or personal data. We keep only the page, the day, the country and the site that sent you, plus a scrambled (hashed) code made from your connection and browser that changes every day, so we can tell roughly how many different people came; the raw address is never kept, and the key to the code is thrown away each day.

If this policy changes, we will update this page. See also our Terms of Service.
