Animals leaving a Texas screwworm infested zone need TAHC inspection and treatment under its orders. The rules are set by TAHC order and can change, so read the current order or call TAHC before hauling.

TAHC sets the zones and movement rules by order, and the orders name the counties covered. Cownty links each order with its date on the county pages and lists orders that name a county.
Zone status as of the latest TAHC map Cownty read is shown below for the region. If your county isn't in a zone, the movement rules for zones don't apply to cattle leaving it. Federal rules on cattle imported from Mexico are a separate matter.
Before hauling out of a zone, check:
- Which zone the cattle are in (TAHC's zone map).
- The current inspection and treatment requirements in TAHC's order, and who can do them.
- Any paperwork the receiving state or sale barn asks for.
This page doesn't replace the order. TAHC's orders, not Cownty, set the rules.
